For more than a decade, Wine Market Council’s ongoing consumer public relations outreach initiatives have paid dividends to the industry by continually growing the consumer base of the wine market; positioning wine as a more common, casual, everyday enjoyment for millions of adults who drink wine.
Providing Members With Resources and Spotlighting Their News
Social networking now accounts for 1 of every 6 minutes spent online. Based on a recent member survey, Wine Market Council knows that many wine industry professionals are taking their brands online to social media channels like Twitter and Facebook, and their greatest challenges in the digital sphere include understanding best practices and building a following, while driving traffic to an e-commerce site is their most important social media goal.
Based on these findings, The Wine Market Council has ramped up its member services by initiating the following digital programs:
- Members can now find answers to their social media questions by calling the new Wine Market Council Social Media Hotline at 312-988-2124. From advice on Twitter best practices to detailed how-to’s on emerging platforms like Google+, our social media experts will provide daily support for members’ social media needs. The hotline is live Monday-Friday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. CT. Social media questions can also be emailed to socialmedia@winemarketcouncil.com.
- To help keep Wine Market Council members on the cutting edge of social media trends, we’ll be hosting quarterly Wine Market Council Social Media Webinars on diverse topics like developing a social brand voice, the ins and outs of Facebook advertising, analytics tools, community management and more.
- We will make Wine Market Council Twitter and Facebook content even more relevant to consumers by using our channels to call out members’ upcoming events and promotions. We’ll help members interact with already existing conversations by retweeting their existing content, and will reach out to members on a monthly basis for new ideas to push out through @WineAnswers and on www.facebook.com/wineanswers.
With these new digital initiatives, the Wine Market Council aims to provide cutting-edge resources and advocacy to its members. If you have any questions about these programs, do not hesitate to contact us at socialmedia@winemarketcouncil.com..
